De tijd vliegt….

Ik ben hierin vast niet de enige, maar vliegt de tijd bij jullie ook op JSF-snelheid aan je voorbij?? Zó heb ik laten weten dat we op zomervakantie gaan naar Puglia, en zo is er een jaar voorbij en staat de volgende zomervakantie alweer voor de deur. Dat betekent dat er weer 5 verjaardagen zijn gevierd, we de Sint- en Kerststress hebben overleefd, heerlijk in Nauders hebben geskied, dat alle eieren zijn verstopt maar niet alle teruggevonden, we weer een hockeyseizoen achter de rug hebben, mijn oudste naar groep 8 gaat en de andere twee naar groep 3 en 5 (en ik dus niets meer te zoeken heb in de ‘kleutergang’ en me -ieks- met schoolkeuzes moet gaan bezighouden), het wéér een jaar niet is gelukt de bijkeuken uit de ruimen en ik niet anders kan concluderen dan dat ook mijn antirimpelcrème die voortsnellende tijd niet weet te stoppen.

Een even ontluisterende conclusie is dat ik officieel de meest slechte “blogger” ben met wel één heel bericht in 365 dagen! Laat ik het dan maar vast tot mijn goede voornemen van 2017 bombarderen om daar verandering in te brengen…. Of niet natuurlijk, want dat schrijven blijft voor mij een leuke bijkomstigheid. Waar het voor mij vooral om draait is het fotograferen van al die heerlijke kinderen, baby’s en mensen. Het is een mooi gevuld jaar geweest, en daar wil ik jullie hierbij een kleine ‘peak’ van meegeven. Geniet van de zomer, de lange avonden, de warmte, de voeten in het zand, het niet op-en-neer rijden naar hockey-voetbal-ballet-vriendje-vriendinnetje, het laat wakker worden en alle mooie te ontdekken plekken. Maar geniet vooral van en met elkaar! Enne, oh ja; dit jaar gaan wij naar Californië. Iemand nog tips?

Stormy Beach

Just a quick post to show the difference from one lovely beach day to the next. Storm, huge waves, foam, sand in our eyes, mouth, hair and everywhere else.. It was not to be compared with a week ago when it was sunny – spring time. BUT these were beachy moments nonetheless! And, like the lone wanderer, kite and wind surfers, we enjoyed them tremendously.

What wonderful 2 days we had here in the Netherlands! And as it was the weekend, me and my family went to have a few beachy moments. The first of 2012. And so happy to live close to the sea and have those precious moments at the ready whenever I feel like having them. And living in the Netherlands, those ‘sunbaked’ beachy moments are rare – whether on cold days, or warm ones. It was a great cure against the ‘end-of-year’-blues I always suffer from in January. Having lost the Christmas tree for another 360some days always does that to me. The feeling of having lost something…. It takes a week or so and then I come to realize that there’s so much to look forward to in the upcoming year, and those beachy moments inspire the first of this year’s future memories: a weekend on the island Texel, skiing in Austria with my 6 and 3 year old, Philippine’s 7th birthday, Easter at my parents, Pierrick’s ever expanding vocabulary, dinners with friends, Josephine going to school when she turns 4 in May, Xavier’s birthday (alas, 42), Mother’s Day (and yes, the Father as well), ballet perfomance, summer holidays in spent in France (yes, another summer), me reaching the big 4 0, the biking evening at school, Pierrick’s 2nd birthday – by which he walks of course, Sinterklaas on the roof and then… Christmas … and much more.

But let us start at the beach, yesterday. Philippine was at a friend’s birthday party. So we went just the four of us (and about xx1000 other people, let’s not over-romantisize of course) for a stroll and a hot choclate, and apple crumble pie, and brownie at Tijn Akersloot and then back. Simple as that.
